An American global diversified industrial company is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations with specific focus on supplier quality including new supplier qualification, new part qualification and supplier corrective action in Tyler, TX. This is a 1 year CONTRACT position, with the possibility of extension. Local candidates only, no per diem available.
Responsibilities for the Quality Engineer
- Resolution of supplier quality issues by utilization of an existing supplier corrective action system to ensure structured problem solving methodologies are employed and effective corrective actions are executed
- Supplier quality support for new component and new product introduction
- Containment and initial response to supplier quality escapes that disrupt or may potentially disrupt production operations
- Coordination of PPAP activity including initiation of PSWs, evaluation of PPAP document submissions and disposition of approval requests
- BS Degree in Engineering or a closely-related technical major
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing operation technical support
- Quality Engineering certification a plus
- Experience with leading structured problem solving activities
- Ability to apply Lean Six Sigma tools
